Shrimp Remoulade
Creole Relish, Old Bay Craquelins, Avocado
Once, off the coast of Louisiana, there was an island called Isle Dernière, which translates to "Last Island". It was a favored vacation spot for wealthy New Orleanians, especially during the peak of the 1850s Yellow Fever outbreak. The salty sea air was believed to be a cure to the epidemic and thus a trendy destination emerged.
In August 1856, as people feasted, drank, and danced in the ballroom, they were unaware that a Category 4 hurricane was barreling toward them.
The storm, split the island, erased its grand resort and rendered the island uninhabitable.
These cocktails draw from that moment in time, capturing both the escape and the elegance of the island before it was lost
